The Exo Reservoir

Why Use a Reservoir?

The Reservoir System

When designing the Exo, we had a took a look at someone of the biggest concerns and issues that float tank owners face. From our research, it was clear using conventional floatation systems were not going to solve the challenges we set out to solve. We required a system that was able to remove all solution from the Pod to achieve total filtration, and keep the solution stored for when it was needed.

Total Solution Processing

Conventional float tanks use a skimming based system (similar to that seen in a hot tub) to clean and filter the salt solution. The issue with this method is you can never guarantee that all the salt solution has been processed through the filters i.e. there maybe dead zones where solution isn’t pulled through. To overcome this, the Exo uses a reservoir system allows for 100% of the Epsom salt solution to processed every time the Exo Float Pod is filled and emptied.

Preserved and Stored

By storing the salt solution in a lidded reservoir, common issues with floatation tanks are avoided. Humidity from the solution is reduced, protecting your float rooms from water damage. It’s also helps to inhibit solution loss via evaporation, lowering the amount of times you’ll need to top up the solution.

Energy Saving

A key point of concern regarding any type of electrical equipment is it’s energy usage. When looking at floatation tanks, the biggest user of energy is heating. To reduce your heating costs, it is imperative to reduce heat loss in the solution.

The majority of float pods are produced from fibreglass which is a naturally insulative material. This means the majority of heat loss will be from where the solution is exposed to air. By storing the solution in a reservoir tank, the contact with air is massively reduced, and therefore heat is better retained.

Cleaning Made Easy

The cleanliness of your floatation tank is very important for providing a good floatation therapy experience. Consequently, being able to clean your float tank quickly between customers will decrease your downtime and increase your profits.

With the Exo, all the solution can be removed from the pod, allowing you clean with ease. This may sound like a minor benefit but imagine cleaning trying clean a hot tub. It would be far more difficult to clean the hot tub if it was full of water, compared to being empty. It’s worse for float tanks as well, any solution spillages will require top ups of Epsom salt.

By using a reservoir tank, the Exo Float Pod avoids all these issues, allowing for much easier cleaning, reduced solution loss and decreased downtime between customers

Sensor Equipped

The reservoir tanks are equipped with a temperature sensor and a solution level sensor. These sensors are communicate with software, providing an amazing float experience.

Location Choice

The reservoir and the pump system can be located in the same room as the Exo Pod, or can be located in a separate plant room.

Insulation Options

For those who wish to go one step further with energy efficiency, we can supply insulation jackets for our reservoir tanks. These can decrease energy usage up to 30%.
